Although there are some exceptions. most cats are so put off by the scent of citrus (Oranges, lemons, etc.) that there are a number of commercially available cat deterrent sprays that are scented with citrus.

No. My uncle used to have a cat that loved to eat oranges. Most cats, however, hate the smell of anything citrus (lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits). Perhaps that is what you're thinking of?

A cat can eat most fruits including oranges. However, oranges are not something that cats typically eat on a daily basis.
