Cheetahs have spots because-like all animals-they need to blend in with their enviroments, thus having spots creates an illusion. Like in a forest if you look at the ground on a sunny day there is sploches of sunlight and sploches of shadow. The dappled effect, blends in with leaves, grass, surrounding scrubland.
