Cheetahs are not strong animals and are gentle and are sometimes harmless. They use their light-built bodies and speed to escape, and to catch very fast prey. They have enemies like lions, jaguars, and I think leopards and some hyenas might want to steal their food or attack.

cheetahs can't run so fast for too long because when they are running their heart is pumping blood extremely fast to the brain and if the cheetah keeps that going soon enough it's brain will overheat then die.

Do cheetahs need water?

Cheetah's are meat eaters and they can survive on the moisture content in the meat they consume. However they need to have a drink of water atleast once a few days. Cheetahs are like all other mammals and can die of thirst and dehydration if they don't drink for a week or so.

What is a cheetah fast for?

Cheetahs can run very fast because their bodies are made specially to do so. They are born with long noses to take in more oxygen while running, they are double jointed so that they can pounce, and they also have long claws to grip the ground and not to slip. If humans where born like this, they would run just as fast as cheetahs. But even though cheetahs are the fastest running land animals in the world, they don't have stamina. As a result, they cannot run for a long amount of time.

What cool things can a jaguar do?

Can cats run as fast as cheetahs?

Depends on what you mean. Cheetahs are considered a cat specie - so Cheetahs ARE cats. Which makes cast as fast as Cheetahs. OTOH the particular cat specie known as the Cheetah is the fastest land animal. No other cat, or any other land specie is as fast as the Cheetah. Your regular domestic pet cat is a lot slower than a Cheetah.

What are 5 ways the cheetahs have adapted?

1) They need to be lean and muscular to catch their prey. 2) They live in hot areas, so they need to have thin fur. 3) They need to run fast so they can catch the fast prey. I can't really think of anymore. Look up "ways cheetahs have adapted" on google.com. They are the only big cat who's claws never fully retract. They are always partially extended to give them grip in high speed chases. Plus they aren't muscular at all. In fact cheetahs are weak, they are built for speed not strength.

How do cheetahs hunt pray?

Cheetahs are 'sight' hunters. They see their prey moving. Then cheetahs, being the fastest runners in the world, chase down their prey, then kill and eat it. Cheetahs, even though they are in the cat family, have dog-like long legs and paws like a dog's to help them run so fast.
