All children need to express themselves. There is no difference in a child who stutters/stammers and a child who does not. We should be good listeners and allow all children to learn to express their thoughts.
It is important to give children sufficient time to express themselves in their own words. This is the only way that you will encourage them to build self confidence and it also helps them in their development.
