All of those heat transfer methods require a medium - gas, liquid or solid. Heat is transferred from warmer molecules to adjacent cooler ones in conduction. Heat is transferred by moving gas or liquid in convection/advection. Space is essentially a vacuum. Molecules are not dense enough to transfer heat to one another, there is not a dense enough gas to convect - leaving only radiation as the heat transfer method.

Convection is transfer of thermal energy using particles

Conduction is the transfer of thermal energy through a solid

Radiation is the transfer of energy using the waves ex.The waves from the sun in space

The conduction of heat energy requires matter of some sort to convey heat from one area to another. Convection of heat requires the movement of hotter gas/gasses to an area of cooler gas/gasses to convey heat energy. A vacuum has neither matter or gas to provide either process.

Because, basically, there are no molecules in a vacum that can heat up and carry the heat around.

Conduction does not happen in space because there is nothing to keep molecules moving in a confined area. There is no gravity in space to hold elements into a confined area.

Heat conduction and convection do not happen in space. They don't happen because in space there is no air. Heat only transfers in space by radiation.

Why is there no heat transfer by convection or conduction through a vacuum?

Conduction needs a conducting medium. Convection needs something to convect. Neither exists in a vacuum.

Can convection take place in a vacuum?

No

Why can heat travel through space by radiation but not by conduction or convection?

Because conduction and convection require particles to transfer heat. Space is a vacuum (has no particles in it) so convection and conduction cannot occur.

Which form of heat transfer is reduced by the use of vacuum inside a vacuum flask?

The vacuum reduces both conduction and convection.

What can't you get conduction or convection in?

vacuum :3 Sister Tree

What important ability or property does electromagnetic radiation have that other energy transport processes such as conduction and convection do not?

Electromagnetic radiation can travel through a vacuum (like the vacuum of space), while conduction and convection require matter to do their thing.

Why can't the suns heat reach us by conduction or convection?

because there is no medium, conduction and convection need medium to spread through, they cannot spread through vacuum.

Why you create vacuum in thermos flask?

This reduces heat transport through conduction and convection.

Where does conduction convection and radiation happen in a house?

on your momz bed

Why is vacuum the best thermal insulator?

Heat travels in 3 ways. Conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through collision of particles. Convection is the transfer of heat through the movements of particles (ie. hot particle rises, cold particle sinks). Vacuum is made up of nothing (when there is no particle, it is vacuum), and so, it is unable to transfer heat through conduction and convection at all, making it the best thermal insulator

What cannot happen in a solid or through a vacuum?

convection

Explain why conduction and convection cannot take place in an airless vacuum like in outer space?
