Scents will linger in the air and seep into fabrics (clothing, cushions, drapes, carpets, ect.) and stay around. The type of scent will determine how strong it is and how long it remains for. The smell of burnt foods and smoke are both very strong and will hang around the hosue for a while. To get rid of it, open up some windows and let a natural aire flow through. Try washing something, like a rag, if it touched the burned food. Throw out the burned cookies and take the trash out fo the house.
All cookie sheets allow different cooking times, and if your cookie sheets are old, they probably no longer bake evenly. I have had the best luck with air bake cookie sheets. They are double-layer cookie sheets with air pockets in between. This helps the cookies bake evenly, and I never have a problem with burning.
because the temperature in your oven varies greatly by region, it is much hotter at the bottom where the heating element is at. this is why when you are baking with more than one level you should alternate levels and rotate the pans 180 degrees
Try using an insulated baking sheet or a SilPat type of pan liner. That should prevent burning. Also, you could simply be baking at too high a temperature.
They burn, what else ;)
Then you trash em'
There are several things that could cause the chips to burn in cookies. The oven may be set at too high a heat. Or, the cookies might be left in the oven for too long.
They burn because you cook them to long.
cookie sheets dont burn cookies. ovens do.
No they cant not unless if you are cooking or not.
it does not

Stoneware is much thicker and a metal cookie sheet is alot thinner and if you are going to bake cookies then pick the stoneware because the metal cookie sheet will burn the cookies.
No, the shape of a cookie sheet has nothing to do with cookies burning. How cookies burn in the oven is usually due to heat circulation in the oven, evenness of heat in the oven, or the position of the cookie sheet relative to the heat source.
Could be both or neither. A dark cookie sheet will brown quicker. Placement in the oven. Too close to the bottom. The oven may not be accurate. The type of cookie, the higher the sugar content, the more likely it is to burn. You can try using parchment paper between the dough and the tray. Lower the temperature 25 degrees.
Well, if you burn the cookies, they will taste different. If you don't cook them, they will taste different too. Just follow whatever cookbook for success.
The bottoms of the cookies will continue to bake because the cookie sheet will still be hot. If you leave the cookies on the sheet too long after being taken out of the oven, the cookies' bottoms will burn and stick to the baking sheet.
face the conciquencesMore information:Depending on the type of cookie, it sometimes is possible to use a fine grater, such as a cheese grater, to scrape the burned portion off the bottom of the cookie.
Bake on glass or use parchment paper on metal
The bottom sheet does not burn because one would be careful not to position the bottom rack too close to the heating element.
