Because dogs use scents as a form of recognition; they learn each others' scents and when they meet a new dog they check it out and remember the smell so if they saw him again, they would remember him. K.
Ok its because every dog has a different smell. Just like every human has a different face
(unless you are identical twins or something). So they sniff each other's ___ to you know remember them. Just like if we saw someone we knew at a store it would because we reconize their face. because imagine if they didn't have a head. We wouldn't know that it was lola or Hannah or whoever. Because we have to reconize their face. I mean if your cousin was like a 4 foot tall *any color person* you wouldn't be able to tell him any different from another 4 foot tall *any color person* unless you know one was fat and one wasnt. but that's not my point. Dogs sniffing each others ___ is their way of ''looking at their face.''
Hope I helped! Later!
It's a dog's natural form of greeting. Basically that's their way of saying hi. Dogs do it big-time... humans not so much. :)
Dogs Like/sniff other dog butts to get information about the dog. It is a form of communitcating.
it is a way of saying hello if the other dog won't let the dog sniff him or her it is because he or she thinks of that dog as an intruder
It's a way of saying hello to another dog.
Well the male follows the female like a dog lol and they sniff each others rear end. Nasty but true.
a dog can sniff anything even cancerous cells
Of course you can. But the dog's hair and whether or not you sniff it will have nothing to do with your death.
To basicly say, Hey! Come meet me! Sniffing butt means Hello in Dog. One sniff tells Dogs everything about one another. :^)

Sniff, its a very basic word. It means the same thing as smell. Only people use "sniff" when they are referring to an animal such as a dog. Hope this helped:)
