I wouldn't think that dogs kill cats.They chase them.Why?
I read in this book that dogs chase cats is because a long time ago, Adam had this dog.
(As in Adam and Eve.)
Okay, so this dog was SO hungry he wanted to this sheep. Adam's BIGGEST sheep.
When he ate it, Adam got very mad, he wanted to complain to God. Now God did get a little angry to, so he wrote this note, saying that the dogs could anything on the ground.
As in: Sheep, Horse, Pig, and all those kind of things.
One day, Adam's dog got hungry again so he ate a horse.(I don't know if it's true but dogs might do that!)
Adam got really angry again, but the dog said:" No Adam! We still have the paper!"
Adam agreed so he said:" Dog, please get the paper so I can see!"
The dog had a friend name "Cat."
Back then Cat and Dogs were good friends
He told Cat to put it in a safe place. Cat did, in the oven...
Dog got angry when he figured that Cat said:" Sorry Dog! But somehow the mice ate the paper to have a nest!"
So, this is why Dogs chase Cats. And Cats eat mice.After that, Dog chased Cat and Cat ran away with Dog forever. That's why. I don't know if this IS real. Dog never came back, so Dogs really sniff other new dogs to say: "Are you Adam's dog?"
The dog would growl or bark to say: "No.That dog however must be you!"
I don't know if THIS IS REAL or not. I just read it on this book about dogs. Do not blame me once this is not true. Have a nice time :D

They do it because of instict. They are natural enemies out in the wild, and even though they are domesticated, they hate each other. DOGS DO NOT KILL CATS UNLESS THE CAT GETS THE DOG REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY TICKED OFF. which they do to everyone.
@AwesomeDude4 Dogs DO kill cats regardless of whether they are "ticked" off or not... not ALL dogs do, but some. Most dogs kill cats due to improper socialization and natural instinct, especially if the cat has a tendency to run.
