just because their curious. all dogs have a sence of curiosity in them. and if they keep lickin the metal, then maybe they just like the taste of metal...

That above is a TERRIBLE answer so I crossed it out.

Dogs lick metal for a bunch of different reasons, but typically dogs do not lick things because they are curious, they sniff things because they are curious. A dog who licks metal could just be bored. Typically OCD behaviors appear as very specific, strange behaviors like licking weird things, chewing, running in circles, barking at nothing, etc. You have to ask yourself if your dog gets enough exercise and MENTAL stimulation. Many people think their dogs get enough exercise because they go for a walk each day, but for some breeds that is not enough. Dogs that are traditional working dogs or high strung type dogs (like terriers, shepards, etc) need mental stimulation as well. You can find a lot of info online if you do some googling.

Another cause of metal licking could be a mineral deficiency, possibly iron or some other mineral. You should have a blood test and make sure to let them know you might be concerned about an iron deficiency.

Finally, one cause of obsessive licking could be seizures. This is far more rare and usually comes accompanied with other symptoms and the licking becomes pattern-like versus random.

Cat's tongue has these tiny little fibers, like the bristles on your brush. Their purpose is to help the cat to maintain their fur. That is why a cat's tongue feels rough. These little bristles stick in the little holes in plastic and cellophane, creating an enjoyable sensation. (Evolution made licking enjoyable, because licking other cats helps to maintain family ties).

Also, the rattle the object makes while the cat is licking it resembles the noises a pray might make. So it is a two-way atrap (a behavioral cue).

So why your cat licks metal even though the surface does not have any holes? Perhaps the metal surface is rougher than you think. Little scratches can make any surface rough enough for cat's tongue to detect them. Your cat may just also enjoy the taste of the metal.

However, if the cat licks copper, brass or unknown metallic alloy, I suggest you remove the item from the cat. Copper is poisonous. That is why the oldtime kettles were covered in tin. Unknown alloy may also contain other poisonous metals, fe. lead.

But if he is licking your cooking pots or other stainless steel, there is no danger.

Bunny care sheets?

To care for a bunny, you have to bunny-proof your house. You have to figure out what cage is best for them (if they're sensitive, you should get a plastic cage, rather than a metal one), figure out what rabbit food they like best, etc. It really all depends on what type of bunny, how old is the bunny, and it's health.

Why does your bunny lick you?

Your bunny may be licking you because he's showing affection to how much he loves you. However, even though it may sound wierd, he might be tasting you to see if your "chewable", so it may start nipping at you. But don't worry; bunny bites don't hurt! In fact, they kind of tickle!

How do you make a bunny cage for 5?

The best way to make a bunny cage for 5 is to buy it. There are large bunny cages that could fit at least 5 bunnies at rabbitcagesource.com Another idea if you must build it: Buy thin metal poles at a hard ware store. You can create a large box using wood. You must make the box missing a side for the metal poles. Super glue the metal poles to the empty side. Don't forget the door!
