Fish do not care how long you spend decorating their tanks they just want to move the rocks. They do this because they check the rock to see if there is any algae or other feeding substances by putting it in their mouth.

Various reasons; perhaps to shovel & excavate to make a 'nesting depression', or to examine it for nutrients to feed on.

It shouldn't be eating rocks ! If it is - there's something seriously wrong, and it should be taken to a vet !
