Yes they do. They also sleep with their eyes open sometimes. If you watch them when they sleep you can see them dreaming, as like us, they have rapid eye movement, and occasionally they'll twitch. It's really cute :o)

Yes. Guinea pigs will close their eyes if they sleep, (even though they do sleep sometimes with their eyes open) feel the need to shut them, or if they blink. Guinea pigs do not blink as often as other animals, we think this is because guinea pigs need to always look out for predators and their eyes do water more than other animal eyes do.

∙ 11y agoWell, my guinea pig died recently and her eyes were open so I'm saying yes. So don't be surprised if your guinea pig dies with her eyes open. It's very common. And when she does die take all the time you need to get over it. It took me a week to get over my pet guinea pig.

∙ 14y agoGuinea Pigs usually sleep with their eyes open when they aren't very comfortable with conditions or they're scared. Mostly when they are trying to adjust to where they are they sleep with they're eyes open... I know because i have 2 guinea pigs... :) hope this helps.

I have two guinea pigs and he does rest with his eyes open I can say I’m not for sure he always does but when he’s on my lap they look very comfortable and his eyes are open
