Actually, guinea pigs have a wide range of what are called "vocalizations." They cannot talk like humans, but they can use various noises to make you aware of their emotional state. The squeak, which also sounds like a high-pitched squeal, can demonstrate excitement-- you might hear it when the guinea pig thinks it's about to be fed or is ready to play; but if it's very sharp, sudden, and high-pitched, it may mean your guinea pig is afraid or upset. Other common sounds are purring-- if it's a deep sound like a cat, it can signify happiness or contentment; a shorter and higher-pitched purr shows nervousness. A hissing sound represents anger, especially if the guinea pig is also showing its teeth. There is also a chirping sound some guinea pigs make, but scientists are not entirely certain what it represents-- possibly sadness, or uncertainty.
Guinea pigs squeak if they want treats, food, or attention.
there is nothing you can do. This happened to my old guinea pig (may she rest in peace), athough we don't actually know if she could ever squeek.
If your guinea pig is quite old [ 2+yrs] it will just be of old age as my guinea pig squeak is 3 and has had it for 1 year and is fine but if your guinea pig is young id take it to the vets as it may have an eye infection Jacinta Farrell age 11
if the oink sounds like a squeak it means warning. if it sounds more like a grunt it means they are exploring in curiosity.
Depends on the squeak. Like humans, guinea pigs have different "tones" So there is the "feed me I'm starving"squeek, which is the most common. Then there is the fearful squeak which is kind of low and panicky sounding. Then there is the "growl" which a pig produces either when approached by an unfamiliar pig or if there is a noise (usually metallic) that they do not like
guinea pigs squeak when your holding them and there are no other guinea pigs in the house because they get lonely and even a bit scared so they squeak trying to get comfort or even just to talk.

If you stroke it backwards it will squeak because it is a pet peeve. But if you stroke it correctly it will squeak out of affection.
If it starts at low pitch and get to a higher pitch it means the guinea pig is hungry. But if the squeek stays at the same pitch it means the guinea pig has a pain e.g. attacked by a cat.
As, They squeak in the way pigs do. Their ears look like pig ears. And guinea pigs eat an incredable amount!

If your guinea pig doesn't squeak on its own, don't try and make it unless you are making it happy. If your guinea pig has a high pitched squeak it means they are excited or they are upset. I wouldn't forcefully try and make my guinea pig squeak, one of mine does and one doesn't, it just depends on your guinea pig. Please dont force it that could hurt your cute little guinea.
They like to chew on things, hide, sleep, eat, and squeak.
Anything you like. If you've got two, why not name them bubble and squeak.
Usually if your guinea pig isn't very talkative its because it is lonely and if you don't already have a second pig that should be something to look into because guinea pigs need a friend. Also please help innocent guinea pigs by adopting one from an animal shelter!!!
They call them guinea pigs because they squeak. Pigs snort. But, it does kinda sound like a pig. (:
