Back when I was a kid we owned a few horses and they'd do this a lot. When I asked the same question, I was told that it was for a few reasons, including:
- It helps keep their hooves healthy
- They might have a stick or some gunk in their hoof that they want to get rid of
- The dirt under the ground is cooler.
- They're just plain bored and up to mischeif!

∙ 15y agothere really is no answer for that, it could be just by complete accident. If the horse is in a stall it could be because he doesnt want to do it any other corner.
