Why do women torture their husbands?

It's about power and control. It's not an anger management problem as some people believe because the husband is able to manage his behaviour when he is feeling angry with others, say for example his boss. It's also a form of discrimination in so far as the powers that be in Western society have made the punishment for beating your wife much less than if that same man beat his boss or a stranger. It can also be learned behaviour that a child witnesses in the family home and later repeats in adult relationships. I believe men who beat their wives would benefit from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy while they are serving their sentence for violence toward their wife.

It is often an exhibit of power by those who need to feel powerful. It is often learned from parents who are abusers and abused. A person that feels that abuse is power (male or female) tend to choose partners who have low self esteem and feel the abuse is warranted.

• Men who beat their wives no matter what the reason are simply over grown bullies and know most women are the weaker sex and they can get away with it. Some reasons for a man beating his wife are: the environment in which the man grew up (monkey see, monkey do); angry at the world; lack of confidence; cheating himself and therefore believes his spouse is cheating.

Men should NEVER beat their wives. They probably beat their wives because they have VERY bad tempers and get angry VERY easily.

i think that they do this so that they have power over something or someone. people who do get abused by their husbands or boyfriends need to try and stick up for themselves or have the courage to leave them.
