For dogs, humping is not only an expression of sexual desires, it is also used to try and gain dominance. Recently after the neuter, the dog may still have some hormones in its system but it is a good bet that it is a dominance issue. With some obedience training, your dog will be more sure of you as a leader and most likely the humping will cease. Good luck

∙ 11y agoIronically they do this, it depends on if the dog was neutered before or after it reached physical maturity. It won't stop them getting urges after all how do they know they have been neutered. Small dogs mature a lot quicker that large Dog Breeds so hypothetically an 8 month old small breed dog could get another small dog pregnant. Neutering is to stop unwanted pregnancies and prevent cancer's. Also dominant males/females will hump to show dominance over other dogs.

This is a show of dominance and is not sexual in nature. It is as simple as that! Their bodies do know that they are neutered as the female no longer comes into heat as her uterus & ovaries are removed and the male no longer has the testerone hormone flowing through him from the testicles. This humping thing is a show of dominace only.
