- Victims of bullying feel alone; alienated from their peers and even their family. Bullying can cause a person to become ill; stomach trouble; not eating well; not sleeping enough or sleeping too much; low grades in school; either rejecting the friends they have or not making friends; have extreme low self esteem; feelings of high anxiety with a feeling there is no way out for them and thus, they become extremely depressed. People who are bullied (especially young people) will not only choose hanging; but cutting their wrists; taking an over dose of medications (often medications their parents may have in their home) jumpingoff a high area or drowning themselves. Laws are changing to protect the victims of bullying and the laws are also changing to make minors responsible for the cause of a victim's death.

Due to the Supreme Court's decisions, schools cannot really teach such things. From the practical side, it isn't so much the exact beliefs that are important as it is the spiritual practice, discipline, added dimension to life, and a sense of purpose. Even if one were abused by their parents and ridiculed and bullied by their peers, they still had someone they could turn too, real or imaginary, who would never leave them, forsake them, nor hate them no matter what. Maybe it is time that schools add in neutral spiritual practices like moments of silence, meditation, imagination, and so on, but without preaching nor religious discussion. Spirituality encompasses a broad spectrum of practices and does not require religion. Even atheists can be at some sort of peace once they have settled all the deep inner questions. With the inner questions answered, bullying may affect a person a tad less overall.

Why don't bullied people have friends?
== Because they are afraid that if they hang around with the person that is getting bullied, they will be bullied too. That happened to my friends which is why I can't hang around them anymore. If those who are bullied had friends who were loyal to them by standing up for them, and by still being willing to "hang" around them, then maybe the bullies would be the ones with no friends, instead of the innocent victims being bullied, and then being abandoned by their friends. If you aren't willing to be loyal to your "friend" then you aren't a friend to begin with. You have to BE a friend to HAVE friends. Bullies are easily intimidated by a group, no matter how weak they may seem individually. Sticking together beats the bullies every time.
