They cheat because the lack of emotional support. Most of military men that i know have a hard time showing emotions expressing their feelings and they find it hard to say I love you and I need you to their wifes. To be honest we all need love we all need to feel important in someones life.
I know that's not an execuse to cheat, but we are all different and we all react different to our circumstances.
A practical perspective:Those who cheat do so because they are morally and ethically bereft. They make excuses for their actions, often blaming the other party. The fact of the matter is that the other spouse (the non-cheating spouse) is the victim of betrayal. Allowing a cheater to make excuses, is like permitting an assaultive criminal to blame his victims for the crimes he commits. Exactly like it.Military wives cheat because they choose to, because they believe for what ever reason that they will get away with it.
If it were otherwise, they would simply leave their spouse and file for divorce.
It is sort of a "have your cake and eat it too" type situation.

Not all military do cheat on their wives. But for some their reason is or was, they are far away from their wives, and what they don't know wouldn't hurt their wife. The man I marry was also in the military, and he did betrayed me after he promised he wouldn't because of me, but knowing what I know now, his all about talk not really meant it. At least we weren't married then when he did it, and yet he did betrayed his promise to me.
When I discovered what he did, he told me that it wasn't important and younger men no matter where they are will be that way, all about sex and lust. So it doesn't matter what branch of military they are, some will cheat.
