This is what I pulled from another site. "After the bite, some saliva of the mosquito remains on the wound. The proteins present in the saliva evoke an immune response in the body. The area that is bitten swells up and is called the wheal. After some time, the swelling goes away but the bitten area will continue to itch until the immune cells of the body break down the saliva proteins.

A mosquito bite is not a disease which can be cured. However, there are many things you can buy (Stingose, Rubbing Alcohol, Tea Tree Oil, Vinegar) which all provide nothing but momentary (if that) relief. calimine lotion ,Aloe-Vera and hydrocortizone cream will help it heal faster. don't itch the bites because they can break, scab, or become infected hope i helped
Male (and female) mosquitoes feed on flowers. However, it is only the female mosquito which bites humans. "She" does this in order to obtain proteins from the blood plasma, which she needs for her eggs. (The male mosquito does not need these proteins, hence it does not bite the human.) Since the female mosquito is the only one being exposed to human blood, it is the only one which will transmit its contents, including malaria. :)
Plasmodium is what causes malaria. It gets into mosquitoes when mosquitoes bite an animal that is infected with the plasmodium.

If you have one or two bumps that look like mosquito bites on your top lip and they seem to have come out of nowhere, they could be a couple different things. You may have cold sores, or you may have actually been bitten by an insect, perhaps while sleeping.
