The simple answer is that people who support Mao Zedong are still in power, therefore, Mao's atrocity is not publicized, and in many cases prohibited to openly talk about in mainland China. While Hitler lost his notorious war and his evil face was completely exposed the day Nazi Germany failed. There is also the fact that Hitler is most known for the Holocaust ans its practices on genocide, which means that it was all organized crime, while Mao Zedong only annihilated political oposition. According to R. J. Rummel,professor emeritus of political science and a Nobel Peace Prize finalist, Mao's policies led to the deaths of nearly 77 million of his countrymen, far surpassing the deaths attributed to Hitler and Stalin.
