Does your dog get enough exercize and stimulation? (play time, walking on leash, off-leash running, socializing with other dogs, etc.) Some breeds need as much as four hours of exercize a day. When a dog doesn't get enough exercize, they may become restless, develop bad habits, or even become snappish.

You want to ask your vet this question.

However, I will fill you in on a possibility. Pacing in a dog can mean that he/she is in pain. If it is too painful to sit, or lay down... a dog will pace.
