Because they realize they are not capable of caring for an infant at that particular time of their life. Perhaps they are not financially able, or not in good health, or any number of legitimate reasons. A mother who allows her child to be adopted gives the child the opportunity to grow up in a secure and loving family environment. She is not doing it to make her life easier but to make the child's life better, it is an unselfish, courageous and loving act.

There are many reasons parents give their kids up sadly enough. One if the main reasons being that they can't afford to care for them or it was an unwanted pregnancy and they decided abortion wasnt the right way to go. Another reason can be because they think they arent "fit enough" to be parents. By "fit enough", I mean that they dont know how to raise a kid or dont want to learn. One last reason I can think of is that they might be drug addicts, but most of the time kids get taken away if thats the case. The parents just dont give them away.

Didn't want to have a baby, had it by accident, didn't want to kill a new life. Or, they don't have enough money to take care of it. Or, in the very very very very rare case, they may just hate their baby's traits.

Answer also: I read it's also because parents may lack the financial means to raise a child and may not be aware of resources available to low income families. Also, If a parent is in an abusive relationship, she may not want her baby to experience the same hardship especially if she doesnt receive support. Also, both parents may have disabilities that makes raising a child difficult without outside support. A teen may also choose adoption if she feels she is too young, sometimes women do not want to be a single parent, they may also choose career over being a mom or an older woman may feel she cannot handle the demands of raising a child. Reasons are so varied.

There may be many different reasons that parents upt their children up for adoption. These reasons will, of course, vary from one family or individual to the next. Still, there are some relatively common situations that will lead parents to put their children up for adoption.

In terms of infants, parents most often put their children up for adoption for one of several reasons. It may be that the mother is young, even a minor, and is not socially capable of raising the child. In other cases, the woman may be unmarried, and have not planned on becoming pregnant, and believes that having a baby now would interfere with her long-term goals and plans, or that she would not be able to financially provide for her baby. In other cases, an "unwanted" pregnancy may wind up in adoption for the sake of avoiding an abortion.

When it comes for older children, it is less common for parents to put their children up for adopton and more common that the children will have been removed from their home. In all-too many cases, this is because of a situation where there has been neglect or abuse of one form or of another. When this happens, the court will strip the parents of their parental rights, and the children will become wards of the state. They will typically be put into a foster home setting until they can be adopted, if at all possible.

In some cases, if a child has special needs, parents may not be able to physically or emotionally care for their children, and will put their children up for adoption. It may be, for example, that the parents have some form of disability themselves, or it may be that the parents are just not equipped, in whatever way, to take care of the special-needs child.

Whatever the reason that parents put their children up for adoption, it does not change the fact that there are many children who need a home. This is especially true for older children, or for children that have special needs. If you are considering adoption, you should consider what exactly it is that you are able to do for an adopted child, to see what sort of child you might be capable of adopting.

Well if you don't know the real circumstances, which sometimes is not very nice with parental rights taken away etc, you can always say she wanted the best for her since she could not take care of her herself. You can also contact the adoptive agency and speak to them about the real circumstances. It's normal that she asks.

There are too many reasons to list here. However, one of the most prevalent reasons is that a mother is not ready to have and raise a child, so she will put the child up for adoption.

Their parents can't take care of them. Either they are too young or maybe don't have enough money to support a child.

What can you do if your wife's teenaged daughter continues to verbally abuse your wife?

I'd say talk to your wife and let her know that she shouldn't allow someone that she gave birth to talk to her like that. And if you and the daughter are close then talk to the daughter and ask her why she chooses to disrespect her own mother like that.

Start with the paper work from your adoption, if that shows nothing try the agency or attorney who handled the adoption. Is it possible in australia to ask to only foster children you can adopt?

You can ask, but it won't happen. Adoption of non-family members doesn't happen in Australia, since there aren't any functioning orphanages anymore. The only adoption that happens is overseas adoption. Fostering is no avenue to adoption in Australia.

She may not want to be found however, if you have your birth certificate try the names that is hers in the town you were born in and surrounding areas - its a start.
