It is possible they are so confused that they have even tried peeing on a Magic Eight Ball for answers. In any event, speaking with their physician (who is required to maintain confidence) would be the wisest way to get answers needed and eliminate the delays resulting from wiki-style Q&A boards and responses from the general public that are very often innacurate. Perhaps they are frightened to find out. They may be looking for assurances that none of us can give them. In any case, it sure seem unreasonable, wouldn't you agree? People who are ignorant of the facts about the mechanics of pregnancy can certainly learn more from WikiAnswers than from the Magic Eight Ball. But if they are coming here to determine whether THEY are pregnant RIGHT NOW because of their own risky behavior -- behavior that may or may NOT result in a pregnancy every time, or even just some of the time -- then WikiAnswers is no better than the Magic Eight Ball. But a Home Pregnancy Test (HPT) would be FAR BETTER ABLE to provide those answers. Most of the teenagers who fear they are pregnant and come to this board for assurances are probably having sex by sneaking around and doing it when their folks think they're doing something else. So, I have some advice: sneak to the drug store and buy an HPT and then sneak to a girlfriend's house and use the kit and find out for sure. Don't ask WikiAnswers. If you can't face the realities of pregnancy like an adult, then don't have unprotected sex. Or, they could be very scared, and not know much about sex and how everything works. Everyone has to go through that stage, and we should be offering help, not criticism. I knew a girl in High School who really thought that you could get pregnant by kissing someone, and so one day at a dance, she was completely losing it because a guy had kissed her... it happens. Kids don't always know a lot, especially when their parents tell them NOTHING.
The WikiAnswers style is to use "value" instead of "worth", as in "What is the value of an XYZ?" instead of "What is an XYZ worth?"
We do have the category Questions About WikiAnswers and a category Questions about Answers.com Questions get put in misc or uncategorized when a user does not choose a category.
then you would get a girlfriend instead of asking questions on wikianswers
You should aim to improve your vocabulary by reading a dictionary instead of asking these sorts of questions on wikianswers.
For practicality, WikiAnswers cannot have categories in every discipline of a field. For example, while Palynology might be a field of Biology, it doesn't make sense to have it when questions could be categorized into Geology or Botany instead. If there are questions that pertain to Physical Chemistry, they can go to the Chemistry category instead. At this time we feel no need to have this category.
WikiAnswers Instead of GoogleMany people have asked the question about Googling instead of asking a question on WikiAnswers, but if it's a stupid question like, "What is lk;ahsd;fjhkdjhkh?" there are much more productive ways to use your time whether you use WikiAnswers or Google. If it's a question that you really want an answer to and does not violate our TOU and Guidelines, you should ask it here instead of Googling because WikiAnswers is a lot more fun than Google! Not only that, but we're building the largest Q&A site on the Web, and that's an exciting thing to be a part of.
Currently, no. Please use the "Report Abuse" button in the top-right hand corner to report a question.
Probably because of the 'openness' of WikiAnswers. Many other forums don't allow questions or answers to be edited once they've been submitted, which means many answers (and questions) may just be completely wrong.
When you are being evaluated as a supervisor for a particular category the categories of the questions you have answered typically do not play a factor. Instead, the quality of the answers is what is important.
I believe WikiAnswers have updated their look. So from now on, when you want to ask a question, you simply type it into the blue bar above instead.
Can't promise, but there is a chance if you get out and look for one instead of sitting at your computer asking WikiAnswers questions that can only be answered by a psychic.
When on the category home page (not the category topic page) you should see all the answered questions. To get to the unanswered questions in the category there is a link to unanswered questions above the name of the category. If you are not seeing a list of questions you probably are looking at the topic page instead of the category homepage and will need to use the browse categories page to get to the category homepage instead.
