Why do people believe in global warming?

Because it is happening. National Geographic is supported by Republicans.Democrats, Left/Right wing folks, and basically anyone who has seen/read the films/articles published by NatGeo. Did you know that the Arctic ocean is now open enough that a sailboat can trasverse from Alaska ACROSS the arctic sea and reach Greenland? All that ice is gone. Just plain gone. Maybe you don't see evidence in your neighborhood, but global warming is happening. Good luck with your life.

Because the alarmists are very skilled at confusing people. They use a lot of technical jargon, and scientific terms that mean nothing to most people, then claim that the evidence is overwhelming, but no one really understands the evidence, or the manipulations that the alarmists have put it through to "prove" their conclusions. They cherry-pick their data, rig their models, and use proxy data that they know to be tainted. And when that's not enough, when other scientists publicly question their conclusions, the other scientists are blackballed. Anyone who doesn't toe the party line on global warming is branded a "Denier", and equated with those crackpots who deny the Holocaust. One prominent global warming alarmist has even suggested Nuremberg-style trials for global warming deniers (presumably, the punishment for those found guilty will be the same as that of Nazi war criminals). Another alarmist, Heidi Something-or-other, on the Weather Channel, has called for revoking certification for meteorologists that question global warming. The editor of one prominent refereed scientific journal has steadfastly refused to publish ANY paper that in any way refutes the notion of global warming. These are just three of many examples of censure in the "scientific" community of those who do not believe mankind is causing global warming. It is all part of a carefully orchestrated plan to convince the world that global warming is real, and that humans are causing it. The ultimate goal of that plan? To institute an all-powerful world government, one that has total control over every facet of our lives. For it is only with this kind of power that governments can even HOPE to stop, let alone reverse, global warming. And the sheeple are falling for it: hook, line, and sinker.
