Answer Old Sociological ViewpointDance is the only socially sanctioned physical contact between unmarried couples, the only way to interact with the opposite sex in an intimate, politically correct way .

People dance for either a living a for a hobby. I dance myself and i dance cause it's cool and fun.

- I dance as a career. I have been dancing 15 years. I started dance as a hobby. Dance is good to bring people together and it's good to increase confidence. People also use dance as a fun way to keep fit and meet new people.

- I disagree with the first sentence of this definition... people dance to celebrate. It doesn't have to be between unmarried couples or persons of the opposite sex. In many cultures men do celebration dances. And, some dances are ceremonial. Again, they may be celebrating something. Small children seem to dance when they're happy. Some dancing is spontaneous and some structured.

People dance because they want to get fit

Some people dance for money/awards/prizes and a lot of people dance because they Ike it and want to get better! I strongly disagree with the first sentence of this answer.

First, people don't ''do'' dance. They DANCE. Second people dance because...

  • Therapy: It makes them think of something else..
  • Excersize: Makes them excersize.
  • Passion: They started when they were young and liked it through and became their passion.
  • Learn: Salsa, hip-hop, break-dance, tap-dance etc.. They all want to learn new stuff.
  • Attract opposite sex: In bars or clubs many of girls actually dances to attract boys!

Anyway, all that to tell you why people ''do'' dance ;).
