- Some people detest gay people because the thought of gays frighten those that are straight. To them it is foreign. Then there is the Christian aspect where The Bible says, 'Man shall not sleep with man, nor woman with woman.' Whether Christian or not Westerners live in a free country and gay people have a right to live in peace; work and they pay taxes like everyone else. If Christian, it is up to God to make the final decision and not up to any Christian to detest gays (most do not even if they disagree with their way of life.) We are all humans living in very difficult times and we should all try to get along even if we disagree with a person's sexuality.
