Answer
There is a condition called "pica" in which individuals consume non-food items such as paper.
I ate and craved little tiny spit balls of toilet paper while pregnant with my 3rd child..immediately after giving birth...I wanted toilet paper and it wasn't the same...I no longer ate it. That was over 17 years ago and I am not pregnant now. But just recently, about the past month...I again began chewing tiny bits of toilet paper. Sometimes its all day long....but today for example....I didn't have any until 10 pm....I don't understand my cravings for it....I literally chew a spit ball size and then swallow when almost dissolved. I am perfectly normal...I keep an immaculate home, cook, go to work everyday...I have no answer for this...My husband laughed when I read the first answer to him....because I am living proof that people do or at least I do eat toilet paper....I want answers...If anyone knows why this happens I would love to know. Until then I will continue to research!!
Answer
People do eat toilet paper and it mostly has to do with a deficiency in iron. An iron supplement should solve the problem.
