What happens when you fart? In: Human Physiology |

[Edit]
A fart is also called passing gas, which is what is happening. Gas inside your digestive system has to come out of one end or the other, and will either be a belch or a fart. As you eat, drink, and talk, you swallow some air. Also, gas builds up when your stomach acid dissolves different food and reacts with different chemicals and comes out of our blood into the intestines. Gas also forms when the bacteria inside your intestines digest other foods and form different chemicals when they do. The gas either goes back up the esophagus and out your mouth (a belch) or goes further down the intestines and out the anus (a fart).
Answer
The activity of the bowels produces various gases and these have to leave the body.
answer:
The bacteria in your stomache needs to escape therefore it gives out gas. Think of the term 'what goes in must come out'. When you eat, you need to get rid of the bacteria in your stomache.
