Q&A sites offer that kind of info from experts or from everyday people. That's part of the appeal, too. It's kind of like asking your neighbor, coworker, or friend a question and getting a written answer.

There are some questions that cannot be answered by even the best reference books or encyclopedias. They need a human expert that can understand a complex relationship. or explain how to do something tricky. Some of those questions are difficult to ask face to face as they are embarrassing, or you just do not know anyone who can give you the appropriate advice. That is where Q&A sites excel. Bringing anonymous experts to people in need.

People use WikiAnswers for many reasons. Some want to know what others opinions are on certain subjects. There is a vast amount of knowledge out there that is possessed by a lot of people. The people that answer posted questions are from all walks of life and from all over the planet. Different people see things in different lights or from a different perspective. All the answers that are found in books are not the correct answers just because they are in print. People who are alive and experiencing life are the ones that answer the questions. Most questions are answered from someones personal experiences.

Also many are new to the English language and unsure of how to handle researching.

They don't use the Internet or they don't know how to use a computer. They are in a place that they can't get answer to Internet.

They use it because it is good and it is really helpful to people looking for answers to questions. I think it is amazing.

Many people use WikiAnswers because it is a fantastic website to get an answer to a question and is also a great website if you like helping others and answering questions.

Why not don't you feel good when you can help someone even if its a stupid question anyway didn't you want someone to answer your question so just think about the person with the question they would be impatient to find out the answer so thats why they go on here but just remember that people are all different and would be happy to answer your questions like me :)

That's what the site is for, to help each other to get answers about things that we want to know. Others here simply want to share what they know. Still others just like to browse. A good portion of learning is incidental.
