This could be good or bad. They might be looking at your hair, the way you dress, facial expressions, or just anything that clearly stands out. If you have tattoos and piercings, many people stare at those and that should be expected. They may be noticing that you seem uncomfortable or nervous in public. They may be noticing how fat or slim you are. They may be noticing how nice looking you are and how well you carry yourself.

A Different PerspectiveOn the other hand, they're probably not staring at you at all. Many insecure people with a poor self image and poor social skills think people are singling them out and staring at them. That is a classic neurotic habit. In some strange wrinkle in their imagination they think they are the center of attraction when actually, no one notices them at all and they are just a part of the "people landscape", blending in with everyone else. You should ask yourself if you have mistakenly viewed yourself as the center of everyone's attention when they really aren't looking at you in any particular way at all. Try imagining that you belong where you are just like everyone else and you are just part of the crowd.

People stare, because they are either admiring or disgusted. Take for instance, when you see a hobo, you will stare.

It's considered rude to stare at someone, especially if they are uncomfortable being stared at. Glance, don't stare...if you want their attention, ask them a question....
