Why do people think that global warming is a Democrat issue when this is everyone's earth to try to take care of?In: Global Warming |
[Edit] |
Global Warming
People think of it as a Democrat issue because the Democrats are the ones who are talking about it and the cause being "greenhouse gases" as if it is a cold, hard fact. Many experts not only believe the cause is not greenhouse gases, but that the earth is not warming at all, or if the earth is warming it is a natural cycle and not caused by people. However, the Democrats ignore any evidence to the contrary of their position and make global warming one of their issues.
[Additional]
Many people in the United States consider it a "Democrat issue" because the democratic party, spearheaded by Al Gore, has embraced the concept that global warming is solely the fault of irresponsible humans(who apparently need a democrat-led government to impose enough rules on them to reverse the current warming trend).
The "Humans are to blame" crowd ignores the overwhelming evidence that humans are actually NOT causing global warming, and are relatively powerless to affect it in any significant way. They ignore the evidence that sunspots and other solar activity are proving to be a far greater influence on global temperatures than greenhouse gases, or any other human activity. They claim that a "consensus" of UN scientists(actually around 600, many of whom do not specialize in any climate-related field) makes the human causation of global warming indisputable. They ignore the fact that over 31,000 scientists in the US alone, have come to the consensus that humans are not causing global warming.
This is not to indicate in any way that we have no duty to treat the Earth, our home, responsibly. We do need to act responsibly in reducing pollution, developing alternative and renewable energy sources, and generally taking better care of our planet. But, we do not need to fall prey to the scaremongering the demands instant changes to many aspects of our society in a false hope that such changes will affect global warming to any significant degree.
