Actually plasma screens are in total 600hz but they are divided in 10 subfields, each of which run at 60hz. But in conclusion, 10 subfields of 60hz reduce motion blur almost to zero and look alot cleaner than 1 subfield of 120hz, 240hz, etc.

No because the LCD or plasma technology is relatively new. It also depends on the maufacturer. Panasonics plasma tv has a 100,000 lifespan versus 60,000 of an LCD. Plasma and LCD are not the same type of tv either.
The difference between a plasma and widescreen lcd tv is that a plasma has less of a viewing range. They both have great video quality.
plasma get hotter then LCD or led and plasma has some gasses in it
== == LCD is best when compared to plasma because crystals have very good property regarding refletion.....so it is better to use LCD rather than using plasma...The plasma have disadvantage that its is not as stable as an LCD.
No most people consider lcd tvs better than plasma tvs. Plasma tvs are harder to fix than lcd tvs. Lcd tvs also have a clearer picture than plasma tvs do.

100Hz (or 120Hz in North America) is a technique of doubling the frame rate of the incoming signal. It pre-dates LCD televisions by a number of years and was a feature of CRT televisions from the early 1990s. The frame doubler was effective at reducing flicker that could sometimes be a problem in CRT televisions. LCD televisions do not have the same issues with flicker but 100Hz and 120Hz LCD televisions have been available virtually from the time LCD screens were introduced.
LCD TV's last longer than plasma TV's.
