Why do siblings tend to get the false impression that their brothers are dumb?

In most younger sibling relationships, there is often a lot of natural competition. While growing up, siblings are also there to see each other at their best, and their worst. You get to see each other with your guards down, the sides that normally would not be presented to the outside world. Your brother isn't really dumb. He is just secure enough around you to act like he is. Sometimes he is just blowing off some steam. It may be frustrating sometimes, but take him for what he is and love him for it anyway.
