Why do some people only eat fish on Good Friday?

[Edit]

Catholics eat fish on Good Friday. (They used to be forbidden to eat meat every Friday.) It's seen as a symbolic fasting day, where one goes without the usual luxuries as a form of purification and remembrance of God's laws.
