Very simple answer: Fear. Once you believe, truly believe, in the existence of paranormal activity, you enter a reality that is incredibly difficult for "wordly" people to let in. If Ghosts exists and do cross into our state of existence from time to time, it might shatter everything a worldly person clings. It shouldn't, but it can. A non believer is either someone who has not seen convincing enough evidence (which today, simply means they haven't looked for it, or haven't been shown), or refuses to accept the possibility. That person does not want it to be true, simply because it disrupts their belief pattern. Someone who believes entirely in what they can experience from their own narrow perspective, is unwilling, but really more Afraid, of seeing anything else.
