All tomatoes need is water and light in some decent soil. Kill a local rabbit just in case.

Tomatoes like a lot of feeding. Feed them once a week with some liquid sea weed fertilizer.

Well plants can't produce their own body heat, and tomato plants just plain aren't made for the cold.
