When Constantine became emperor of Rome, in the fourth century CE, the birthday of the god Mithras was celebrated on December 25th, but there was no celebration of the birth of Christ. Wishing both to encourage Christianity and discourage Mithraism, Constantine had December 25th accepted as the official birthday of Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born in spring (According to The Bible). It is my personal opinion that the Christians stole the idea of Christmas from the pagans because every other religion had a winter holiday. Christmas tree? Pagans. Dec. 25? The pagans.
Beacause that is when jesus christ whas born and it is one of the most important times in the history of the world
They celebrate it on the 25th of December. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ :)

All religion is man made to give Knowlege of ourself and pleausre in all situation.
December 25 was originally a Roman feast. When the Romans became Christian, they "Christianized" the holiday.
Pope Gregory
No one did it was when 'Jesus' was apparently born and to celebrate the birth of 'Jesus'
Augustus Caesar, the first emperor.
I am not sure actually, I don't think that elizabeth is mentioned in the story of Christs birth at all... maybe you should read the bible, in mathew, mark, luke, john, the new testament.
December 25th is Christmas (a holiday for Christians). Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a savior come to free us from our sins. (If you want the full story- look in your Bible for Luke) Christians celebrate this by giving gifts to others- rejoicing for the birth of Jesus.
