Even more important: why do you use "emphasis" as a verb?
what you need to know about philosophy and the theme of aperance vs.reality
There are many features and aspects of philosophy. Philosophy is the foundation in which all progressive, intellectual thought is built on. There are the five main branches of philosophy, encompassing every aspect of the human being: Metaphysics(concepts of time, reality, and existence); Epistemology(truth, belief, and theories of justification); Logic(reasoning, pragmatism, skepticism); Morality (ethics, good vs. bad, and politics); and Aesthetics (beauty, art, sentience, and perception). Science and religion stem from philosophy. Criticism and debate owe their origins in philosophy. Music and painting are due to philosophy.Philosophy is the defining aspect of humanity.
For me, the difference between western and eastern philosophy is that western philosophy is broad and covers more about religion, science and other rationalistic thinking. On the other hand, eastern philosophy covers on wise teachings on how one should react or do in a particular environment or situation. One thing, western philosophers focus more on experimenting and researching in order to find other ways to answer their questions while eastern philosophy tend to use past experiences and wise teachings and are more conventional in finding ways in answering their questions.
Philosophy is the quest for more. As there is no such thing as "ancient" vs "modern", then there is only ever the philosophy of truth, which is reality. Ancient and modern imply a barrier, which cannot be drawn between the two. There is no difference. -- With this said, there has been a historical shift in philosophical/political analysis that has been usually identified as the "divide" (even if it is a false dichotomy) of ancient and modern philosophy. There are many names and ways it has been identified but I will call it here, Enlightenment Liberalism. In philosophy, Descartes is many times seen as a mark of this division, but there are two hallmarks of EL: a methodological individualism, and a mathematical/logical understanding of reason. Philosophers started using great deductive proofs, and Truth came to be understood and discovered like geometry with the individual as the standard unit of measurement. This is vastly contrast to, for instance the noetic Aristotelian conception of philosophy where man is the polis animal and human nature (just as the nature of all things) comes to be understood teleologically. One has to discover the end of a thing and its essence before one can standardize and measure it etc. Once you've seen a great oak tree, you can tell what a crappy one looks like. The same insight can be drawn to the nature of man, which has an emphasis on the polis and sociability instead of the individual Hope this helps
The word juche, in Korea, was first drawn from 1887-1900 translations of German philosophy, where it means "subject" (vs. "object"). It was later adapted to an ideology of "self-reliance" by Kim Il-sung, ruler of North Korea from 1948 to 1994 (president from 1972 to 1994).
