Why do you use linux?

Because it uses less of your computers power, it is NOT restricted, like windows it has half decent graphical effects...with lots more, too.

The best thing is that it IS free!!!!!!!

All of the above are very valid points. Also, Linux tends to be much more secure than most competing commercial operating systems, though some such as OpenBSD, is reputed to be even more secure than an average Linux install. Likewise, Linux tends to be much more reliable and is able to perform more work than most competing commercial operating systems on any given piece of hardware. [JMH]
