At first, I thought they didn't either. Upon further inspection I just found out that you have to push really hard to get them in.
As far as i know other headphones are uncompatible with the ipad the only ones that have headphones with them is iphone or ipod

What are headphones going to do for you? Listen to music, movies in better quality? If that's all you do, then yes, get the BEATS. If you want to play games, surf the net, listen to Songza, Pandora, Slacker or other online music apps, plus do homework/office work, etc....get the iPad. That's my opinion.
