Why does Josh Hartnett change watches towards the end of Lucky Number Slevin?

Mr. Goodkat was hired to kill Slevin and the fairy so they made it look like Slevin was killed and blew up the place so no one could identify the body of Nick Fisher(presumed to be Slevin) accept by what he had on his person that wasn't destroyed. So they plant Nick's body there and change watches because it was supposed to look like Slevin was killed.
