Why does Shakira make music if Muslims hate music?

Very unfortunately, most of the 'Muslims' don't follow the teachings of Islam sincerely. Telling lies, taking bribery, usury, being dishonest in daily life, being unjust, fradulent, deceitful, cruel, merciless ect are all strictly forbidden in Islam. Even then, many 'Muslims' commit all these crimes. It does not make things declared unlawful or Haram, lawful or Halal. This is not the case with the 'Muslims' only. The followers of all other religions also don't follow the teachings of their religion in letter and spirit. It is not Shakira alone, their are many more 'Muslim Musicians'.

There are so many incorrect suppositions in this question that it is hard to know where to begin.

1) Shakira is not Muslim: Her father, William Mebarak Chadid, and his family are from Lebanon, but the family was a Maronite family, which means that they were Catholics. Shakira's mother was of Spanish descent and was also Catholic. There is nothing Muslim about Shakira.

2) Muslims do not Uniformly Hate Music: While many more religious Muslims argue that any non-religious music is forbidden, with some Muslim parents known to have disowned children who went into music, the majority of the Muslims in the world flagrantly disregard this and embrace music. There is controversy concerning music with clearly blasphemous themes or laced with profanities, but, by and large, Muslims listen to music on the radio or television without incident.

3) Shakira Can Do What She Wants: Shakira (and everyone else in the world) is not required to conform herself and her activities to what everyone in the world would have her do. She is free to live her life as she sees fit and if some Muslims (and Non-Muslims) would prefer to not listen to her music, they are perfectly free to do so.
