My dog and a friend's dog both eat acorns for some unknown reason. A search of the net tells me it might be kidney failure (which i doubt both dogs would have) or that the dogs smell something they like on the acorns.
A few reasons:
1) They simply like the taste or the texture when chewing it (my dog likes eating cabbage leaves because of the crunchiness - i think)
2) Because they have some digestive problem and grass helps them since grass are naturally hard to digest and would therefore trigger the digestive system to pass the "stuff" in it out faster
3) I am not sure is this true, but some people say it felt sickish and turned to grass as medicine since grass can help digestive problems, although it doesn't means the dog is experiencing any digestive problems. the dog just assume the grass can help solve their sickly feeling.
If it does not shed it's leaves in Winter it is not an Elm.
