New moon is happening once a month and it is the visibility and the location of the moon meanwhile high tide happens every day which means the nearest point between moon and earth and low tide is the other way around which means the farthest point between moon and earth, it could be high tide somewhere in the world and low tide in another part of the world as it takes the water from somewhere to somewhere else.

Tides are caused by both the Sun and The Moon. Tides are the result of both Gravity and momentum.

Gravity attracts objects. This causes water on the Earth to rise up on the side of Earth facing the Sun and the Moon.

Momentum tries to continue in the same direction. This causes water on the opposite side from the Sun and the Moon to rise up and keep going in the direction it was going as Earth turned away in response to the Sun's and the Moon's gravity.

The Earth is also rotating. This brings different areas of the surface into line with the directions of gravity and momentum. To observers on the Earth, it appears that the tides rise and fall two times each day. But actually, the Earth's rotation has carried the person into the higher or lower regions caused by gravity and momentum.

At the time of a Lunar Eclipse, the sun, the earth and the moon are perfectly alligned with the earth in the middle. and the sun and the moon on either side. The gravitational pull from the sun pulls the ocean waters in one direction whereas the moon's pull on the opposite side pulls it in the other. This arrangement causes very high tides on the 2 sides that are facing the moon and the sun and very low tides on the other 2 sides that are facing empty space.

a high and low tide is the same for a new moon and full moon because that is along the same axis an the same sunlight that reflects from the sun.

Which position is the moon in to cause a spring tide?

when the moon is in a high or low position. p.s. Trenton Coty Dow found this out. =)

What would the tides be like during a new moon?

High tide (or Spring tide)

When a hurricane is approaching which moon phase would cause a serious flooding problem?

A full moon or new moon would have the worst effects if the storm hits at high tide. This is because a high tide is higher at this point in what is called a spring tide. The high tide adds to the hurricane's storm surge, creating a storm tide that causes more severe flooding than the storm surge would on its own.

What positions of the moon do the smallest high tide occur on earth?

New moon and full moon

What is worse the eye of the storm crossing the coast during a New Moon or a Full Moon?

There would not be a difference in the effects between a new moon and a full moon. However, the effects of the storm hitting at high tide during a full moon or new moon will be worse than at high tide during a half moon.

What a neap tide low or high?

No, it's not either of those things. A neap tide is when the difference between low tide and high tide is at a minimum. They occur roughly twice a month, when the moon is at first or third quarter. When the moon is new or full, you get the opposite of a neap tide, a "spring tide", when the difference between low tide and high tide as at a maximum.

How do you know when there is a high tide or a low tide in the ocean?

No, High tides occur when there is a full or new moon. Low tides occure when there is a half or as quarter moon. This all makes a difference because the the cause of tides is the gravitational pull of the moon and sun if you need another reference go to google and type in video of an ocean tides there are some pretty interesting facts about tides

An unusually high tide is called a-?

An unusually high tide is always called a spring tide.

What tide occurs during a full Moon and a new Moon?

wave tide

What are 4 types of tide?

High Tide, Low Tide these two or the normal tides that we have every day Then there is Spring Tide, this is when The Earth , Sun and Moon are more or less aligned (New Moon and Full Moon) these cause the highest highs and the lowest lows. Then there is the Neap Tides, this is when there is the lowest amount of movement in the tides normally occurring about the First and Last Quarter of the Moon, when the Gravitational effect of the Earth Moon and Sun try to cancel each other out.

What are spring tides and neap tides?

Spring tide:A tide with the Greatest different between high and low tide that occurs when the sun and the moon are aligned with Earth at the new moon and full moon. Neap tide:A tide with the least different between low and high tide that occurs when the sun and moon pull at right angles to each other at the first and third quarters of the moon. Hope i Helped :)

What phase is the moon during spring tide?

A spring tide occurs during the full moon phase of the moon. This is also known as the new moon phase and the moon is located between the earth and the sun.
