Yes, alcohol is a vasodilator - it makes the peripheral blood vessels relax to allow more blood to flow through the skin and tissues, which results in a drop in blood pressure. In order to maintain sufficient blood flow to the organs, the heart rate increases. Your breathing rate may also speed up.

Yes it does. Thermoreceptors react to the increase in temperature and cause the hypothalamus in the brain to activate the sympathetic nervous system to return to normal body temperature. While doing so, the heart rate increases.

Yes they do, but exactly why and how is not clear. Most websites I've come across attribute the heart rate increase to the caffeine content, but since coffee (which contains more than double the amount of caffeine that soda pop does on average) does not increase my heart rate, I will attribute the cause to the carbon dioxide. My theory, is that the rapid increase of carbon dioxide levels in your body when you drink a carbonated beverage causes a reaction from your heart as it attempts to rebalance the oxygen/carbon dioxide levels in your blood.
