Chlorine evaporates for exactly the same reason that any other substance evaporates. For any individual atom or molecule, if the random thermal motion of that particle takes it in the direction of the surface of the liquid, with sufficient speed to overcome the attraction that the liquid exerts, it will evaporate.
Yes, most chlorine will have dissipated from tap water in 10-15 minutes. Many recommend waiting a full 24 hours to be safe. Many municipalities now use chloramine, however, which can take much longer. Waiting 48 hours is not a bad idea.
No. It is a metal and it can oxidize, but cannot evaporate.
can clay evaporate in water
Water will evaporate into the atmosphere.
In some areas, water purification plants use first chlorine, to kill bacteria, and then ammonia to neutralize the chlorine. That leaves traces of chloramine in the tap water. This generally considered harmless to humans, but can kill tropical fish, which is why you have to treat tap water before using it for aquariums. However, as a result of the addition of the ammonia, there is no free chlorine in such tap water.Answer: In most places, yes there is trace amounts of chlorine left in tap water (used in the cleaning process) by the time it reaches a house for use. This can either be filtered out at the tap, or simply put the water in a pitcher in the fridge and the chlorine will evaporate within 24 hours. (do not seal the water in a bottle or you will trap the chlorine, use a pitcher with a light fitting lid so there is air transfer)
Technically Chlorine doesn't evaporate but it "dies out" when "attacking" chemicals
Yes. That is why chlorine doesnt last long
no
ionisation system stay in water whereas chlorine evaporate into the air, Chlorine irritates the skin, the eyes, and the respiratory system.
I don't frickin know
It takes 5 to 7 days for the chlorine to evaporate
The speed of this depends on pH, temperature and volume of water.
No it does not. There is no danger with evaporating salt water.
The easiest way is to just wait a couple of days the chlorine levels will drop on their own. Also, if you use a pool cover, leave it off. This allows free Chlorine to evaporate from the surface. === ===
24 hours is what they say for a fish tank. that should work fine for plants too.
From what?If from water, evaporate the water. If you're talking sodium from chlorine, http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_you_separate_the_sodium_and_chlorine_in_sodium_chloride
Chlorine is a gas and as such will evaporate off naturally. Boiling the water will speed up the process.
