All the sugar wears you out . It gets you all excited then you feel worse than before, like an energy drink. They have lots of sugar also.
-----
While sugar (and carbs in general) usually get a bad rep, they are not as bad as they are made out to be. The sugar does not "wear you out," instead, something more profound (biochemically) is happening in your body.
When you eat carbs (especially simple sugars like our common sucrose), an amino acid called tryptophan is taken in by the brain in increased amounts. When this happens, you feel sleepy. Tryptophan is the stuff that turkey is notorious for when it comes to making you sleepy.

Sugar may have the above effects but I also think caffeine is a big part of it. I have made myself acutely depressed by overdosing on tea and come out of it by laying off it. I have learned I cannot even tolerate 1 cup of decaf coffee a day on a sustained basis without getting depressed after a week or so. There seems to be some kind of delayed rebound effect. I believe this is independent of sugar because if I eat one chocolate chip cookie after dinner regularly (not choc batter, just choc chips) I will have this effect. The meal should stabilize my blood sugar, so it shouldn't be the sugar. And the effect is not immediate. In the middle of the day is when I get sleepy, and the effect is not produced on a single dose of chocolate. Very small doses accumulate to cause it. Similarly, as I am allergic to milk, I make myself Hot Chocolate with soy milk, pure cocoa, and artificial sweetener. No sugar there unless you count the soy milk. Regular consumption of that makes me sleepy. Again the chocolate seems to be the culprit.
When I lay off ALL chocolate consistently, I do not get sleepy during the day.
On a side note, when I was nursing I had plenty of milk until I started drinking one Coke a day. My milk supply became inadequate. Quit the Coke and the milk flooded back. Caffeine is a diuretic and robs you of the fluids you need to make milk.
Not many. There are tiny amounts of caffeine in chocolate, so that should keep you awake for maybe 10-30 minutes.
___
If you have acid reflux, chocolate can trigger it, so you might wake up in pain, or with acid in your mouth if you don't also take an antacid or control the problem another way.
It works for me most of the time, but what really helps is a hot bath.
It isn't really that good to eat chocolate before you go to bed because chocolate has caffeine in it. Caffeine makes you feel wide awake. If you have a little it might not be that bad.
Not usually.

I remember going to Germany and eating a chocolate bar, that we got to see being made.
I am not a doctor, but I am a college student who drinks heavily. Eating a solid meal a few hours before a party usually makes me feel the effects slower. Although if I am drinking beer it makes me really full really fast. I try to eat something like salad and pasta. Good energy food, and filling.
Eat out before going back to your house.

Many people believe that eating before drinking will allow them to drink more without becoming intoxicated. Although food in the stomach will slow the absorption of alcohol to a degree, at the end of the day you'll be just as intoxicated. It will just take a little longer.
Chocolate is full of fat and sugar, and should be eaten as a treat, not all the time. Chocolate is only poisonous if you eat an average persons body weight of the stuff, but it's not going to do your heart any good if you eat it all the time.
Your going to be killed by a man with one leg and plastic hand while eating a chocolate bar in the local shop hope this helped
Yes, chocolate itself is allowed. However, Buddhism is against doing things to excess or giving in to very strong desires. Basically, it would be fine as a basic food, but going on a binging on it would not be.
