Why does it seem that the plane is not moving in the air?In: Science, Physics

From the ground:
The farther away the slower it looks. it looks much smaller than it actually is therefore: even traveling at 600 mi. p/hr the air space is so vast that it causes an optical illusion.
On the plane:
When you're on a plane, it feels like it's not moving because, except for at takeoff and landing, the plane tends to fly at a constant speed - and you are moving with it at the same speed. You don't sense the plane's motion because you don't sense it accelerating or slowing down.
