Why does my 1986 ford f-150 lose power during acceleration?

[Edit]

check the fuel filter

IT COULD BE TIME FOR AN ENGIN OVERHAUL, BUT IF YOU WANT TO PUT THAT OFF FOR A WHILE UP GRADE YOUR GAS TO A CLEANER, AND HIGHER OCTANE. IT WILL BE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT WILL HELP YOUR ENGIN IN THE LONG RUN. ALSO USE FUEL ADDITIVES, MORE OFTEN THAN WHAT THE BOTTLE CALLS FOR. NOT EVERYTIME BUT EVERY TWO OR THREE FILL UPS. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR TRANY IS NOT SLIPPING. IT MIGHT BE TIME TO HAVE THAT LOOKED AT AS WELL.
