Why does my Toyota Echo have rough idle with air conditioner on?

Check the basics first (air filter, belts, plugs) but the most likely cause is dirty throttle body or mass airflow sensor. You can easily clean both on your own although MAF sensor should be replaced after 100,000 miles. Throttle body can be cleaned with Seafoam penetrating lubricant and a toothbrush or wire brush.
You may also want to test the alternator (Toyota calls it the generator)

You dont , it is adjusted by the ecu and the "Idle speed control Valve" now the idle speed control valve might be stuck , so you can remove it and clean it up with some carb cleaner and wd40 , it is located underneath the throttle body

Using a Mass Air Flow Cleaner from BG and just a Toothbrush and Carb and Choke Cleaner on my Throttle body. about 6k miles later it returned with a slight rough idle, and I replaced my PCV Valve for the first time, now it purrs like a kitten. Total repair cost 6.99 for Mass Air Flow cleaner from BG 3.99 for Carb and Choke Cleaner 9.99 for PCV Valve.
