I also had same problem ,re installation of chrome didn't help much.Then i found out the issue. Its with the settings. Just make internet explorer as your default web browser. Its a fact that explorer sucks!! But as long as you are using a windows product you have to comply with them.I think Google will take it seriously. Yes you have to manually trigger it always.I'm not a tech-guy.I'm just sharing something that worked for me.If somebody have a better idea to bye-pass this issue.Just share with me also
To set back Explorer as default browser:
